Rabito Clinic was established in 1974 by Prof. Edmund Nminyem Delle after his return from Italy where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree. The clinic was named after his academic mentor, Professor Calogero Rabito at the University of Padua, Italy. Accredited by the Ghana Medical and Dental Council and the Health Facility Regulatory Agency of the Ghana Health Services, Rabito Clinic currently operates 18 active branches throughout Ghana with its headquarters in Osu, behind Koala Shopping Centre in Accra. Current active branches are 18 – (Current Active branches are: Wa, Bolga, Tamale, Sunyani,Kumasi,Takoradi, Koforidua, Abeka Lapaz, Dansoman, East, Legon, Osu,Tema, Makola,Aflao, Rabito,Cosmetic Centre, Nkwapa Labs, MyCareMobile and Ho). Rabito provides dermatology, general medicine, gynecology, laboratory and pharmacy services.
NAA PROFESSOR EDMUND NMINYEM DELLE
Naa-Professor Edmund NyinyemDelle is the Founder, Board Chairman and Chief Medical Officer of Rabito Clinic, which he founded in 1974. He was born in 1943 in Nandom in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Through the support of his mentor, His Eminence the late Cardinal Peter Porekuu Dery, Delle received a full scholarship to study at the University of Pauda in Italy, where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine and Surgery in 1970. Thereafter, he obtained a post graduate diploma in Tropical Medicine at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium and a Diploma in Skin and Venereal Diseases (DSVD) at the University of Padua in 1972. He was appointed a Resident Medical Officer and Lecturer in Skin Diseases at the University of Padua from 1972 to 1974. In 1974, Delle returned to Ghana where he founded Rabito Clinic, named after his academic mentor Prof CaologeroRabito at the University of Padua.
Delle is a fellow of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology (EAVD), the American Association of Dermatologists (AAD) and the British Association of Dermatologists (MBAD). He is a Founding Member of the Ghana Society of Dermatologists and the African Association of Dermatologists (which he served as Vice-President and Secretary-General between 1991 and 1997).
Delle served as a Commissioner for the International Commission for Health Professionals (ICHP), an affiliate of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in 1989. He also co-founded the African Commission of Health and Human Rights Promoters (CAPSDH) in 1991 to combat human rights abuses and health challenges across Africa. A devout Catholic, he served as Chairman of the Catholic Standard for 23 years and is the current Board Chairman of the Catholic Centre for Hope.
He was previously an adjunct Professor of Dermatology at the University for Development Studies (UDS) and is currently a Professor of Dermatology at the Accra College of Medicine. Delle is a recipient of many local and international awards including the Marie Curie Award, the Ghana Medical and Dental Council’s Life Time Achievement Award, Health and Medical Services Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Upper West Region Business Icon 2016 Award and the Ghana Entrepreneur Awards Hall of Fame award.
Delle is a family man with five children.
